E.ON Ruhrgas awarded 8 licenses in APA 2007

In the 2007 APA 2007 license award announced on the 8th of February by the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, E.ON Ruhrgas has been awarded interests in 8 licenses, of which 4 as operator. Working interests range from 20% to 100% and four of the licenses are located in the Norwegian Sea and four in the North Sea.

Haakon Haaland, Managing Director of E.ON Ruhrgas Norway, said: "We are very pleased with the outcome of APA 2007. The award of interests in 8 new licenses is a substantial step in the building of our business in Norway. We are now holding a portfolio of licenses that makes us very well equipped for further growth as a gas producer on the Norwegian Shelf."

Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) are the Norwegian Governments annual awards of production licenses in the mature parts of the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Including the newly awarded licenses, E.ON Ruhrgas Norge holds a portfolio of 22 production licenses in Norway including a 30% interest in the producing Njord field which started gas export in December 2007, and 28% in the Skarv/Idun development.
