The subject of work-life balance is something that we have been working hard on for many years.
It is our aim to offer all employees the right conditions so that they can work hard without neglecting their family. Our company policy was recognised as being family-friendly when it was awarded the ‘Work and Family Audit’ certificate of the Hertie foundation again in 2007. The ‘Work and Family Audit’is a management instrument which gives answers to the question of how to create family-conscious company policy. In a re-audit after three years, the foundation checks whether the goals set have been achieved. In addition, further measures are decided for the future.
For example, we offer our employees wherever they work in Germany advice and help to find childcare places or services for family members who require help or care. This is becoming more and more important as life expectancy increases. If a member of the family needs help or care, the search for a solution which is acceptable to the relatives is often very difficult as the range of services on offer is so varied and insurance and legal questions also have to be clarified. In order to support the employees optimally in this situation, pme Familienservice offers individual advice on residential care and care in the community and also finds carers for invalids or senior citizens as well as domestic help. If the employee is the person who needs help because he has become ill, domestic help or other support services can also be arranged. The employees pay the cost of all the above-mentioned pme Familienservice but E.ON Ruhrgas pays for the advice and arrangement costs.
What we have achieved so far is good reason for us to be pleased but certainly not rest on our laurels. After all, we do not want to be just one of the best but the best. Therefore, we will continue to work on creating the very best conditions for our employees.
